Carl's Credentials
With over 15 years of experience in family law, Carl Taylor brings extensive expertise to his practice. He is the author of several books including Happily EVEN After: the Guide to Divorce in New Jersey (3rd edition), Personal Divorce for Business Owners, and Building a Matrimonial Practice. His work has been published in the New Jersey Law Journal and Family Lawyer Magazine, where he wrote pioneering articles on topics like cryptocurrency in divorce.
Carl's career includes serving as a named partner at Cooper, Cottell, and Taylor in Somerville, Deputy County Counsel for Somerset County, and municipal prosecutor for multiple towns. He has represented clients in New Jersey's State, Federal, and Appellate courts, with particular expertise in business litigation and complex divorce matters.
A trained mediator and former law clerk in the Superior Court Family Division, Carl is active in the legal community as a former Trustee of the Somerset County Bar Association and member of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He brings this wealth of experience to every case, focusing on efficient, settlement-minded representation while protecting his clients' business and personal interests.
A graduate of Rutgers School of Law, Carl lives in Central New Jersey with his family. When not practicing law, he enjoys writing fiction and collaborating with other business owners and creatives.
